STS-134, a 16-day mission, marked the historic last flight of Shuttle Endeavour, a vehicle that had completed 25 flights over the course of its lifespan.

During STS-134 the Canadarm and Canadarm2 were used to successfully unload and install the Express Logistics Carrier-3 and the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer-2. The latter will analyze cosmic rays to further our understanding of the origins of the universe.

Canadarm2 also assisted spacewalkers during their activities. This mission was unique in that it featured the very last Shuttle spacewalk, which was performed by NASA astronauts Greg Chamitoff and Mike Fincke.

Dextre, Canada’s space robotics handyman, received a spare arm, new lens cap and some basic maintenance.

The Inspection Boom performed numerous scans of the Shuttle’s exterior before it was detached from the Canadarm and permanently added to the Space Station. Shuttle Endeavour launched on May 16 and returned to Earth for the final time on June 1, 2011.
